Lone worker software for businesses that don’t need a man-down device
This is a check-in and escalation system, not a certified man-down or fall-detection device, and it isn’t connected to a monitoring centre. If your risk assessment calls for those, you need a dedicated lone-worker service. If it calls for “someone knows I’m out and someone is told if I go quiet”, this is that, in the same app as the rest of your safety system.
Most lone working in small businesses isn’t a confined-space entry or a night shift on a remote site. It’s the engineer at a customer’s premises, the surveyor on a roof, the person locking up. The risk assessment says a check-in procedure is needed, and the procedure is a text to the office that nobody reads if it doesn’t arrive.

Is this a man-down or fall-detection device?
No. It is a check-in and escalation system on the worker’s own phone. If your risk assessment requires automatic man-down detection or a monitoring centre, use a dedicated lone-worker service alongside OpSemble.
Who gets alerted when a check-in is missed?
The contacts the worker named when setting up: colleagues in OpSemble or an email address. A session cannot be started without at least one contact.
How quickly is a missed check-in escalated?
The escalation sweep runs every minute. Once a check-in is later than the grace period, the contacts are notified with the session details and how late the check-in is.
What if the job runs over?
Checking in at or past the expected end extends the session by another interval rather than raising an alert. Running past the expected end without checking in does alert the contacts.
Can managers see who is working alone right now?
Yes. A monitoring view lists every active session in the business with location, activity and next check-in due. It needs the Health & Safety view permission.
